ENALAPRIME 5 Enalapril Mateate (5mg) ENALAPRIME is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor widely used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. By inhibiting the enzyme responsible for converting angiotensin I to angiotensin II, enalapril decreases the production of angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Additionally, ENALAPRIME helps reduce the workload on the heart and can improve symptoms of heart failure. Monitoring: Patients taking enalapril should have their renal function, serum potassium, serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), complete blood count, and hepatic transaminases monitored. This is particularly important in elderly patients and those with conditions that could exacerbate the drug's side effects.
